From 5/13 show at Luna Park: the new CD will be out in Aug.

04/30 -

07/12 -

From MF's 7/7 show at the Great American Music Hall in SF...

05/14 -

From MF's show in the San Francisco area this past weekend...

04/13 -

From the FerrickFan@aol.com...

03/01 -

From the people at Hidden Water..

12/29 -

From the MF mailing list after last night's show at TTs.. She also mentioned that she will have a live CD coming out in the spring (I think) called Live from Largo. She also said that they were taping last night's show so something might make it onto the CD from TT's.

12/06 -

From Hidden Water, via the MF mailing list:

10/12 -

From Hidden Water, via the MF mailing list:

07/18 - Two things: 1) Her tape can be purchased from Hidden Water, 2) from the MF mailing list..."melissa is going to go back into the studio around august or so and will have another cd out around january.

07/08 - The latest about her new album... At her shows, she's selling a cassette "tape, called "made of honor", with eight tracks on it: asking for love, alone, to let you see me, somebody help me, aida, taking a liking, frog named freddy, and an acoustic rendition of willing to wait. all good :) um, yeah, you can say it's acoustic, seeing as how it's just her and her acoustic guitar."

The latest from the MF mailing list about her appearance at NY's Bottom Line:

06/03 - Heard it on the MF mailing list, from Melissa's 6/2 show in Boston... "The new scoop seems to be that she is releasing a new album in July, which she just finished recording this Friday in Boston. She is out on her own now will putting this album out herself and seems it will only be available at her shows. She starts a nation wide tour and will be back east in this area again for about 2 or 3 weeks towards the end of July. She plays a festival in NY but will also have a show somewhere here in Boston."

02/15 - Heard it on the MF mailing list...."Melissa just finished doing some recording so look for an EP to come out in the next 2-3 months!!!"

01/14 - At the Dragonfly, Melissa said that they were still unsigned; however, that wasn't going to prevent her from completing her next CD - "we'll go out and do it ourselves."

12/10 - At the Palms, Melissa mentioned that they are still looking for a new label. People sitting near us said that some recording industry types are supposed to be at the 1/10 Dragonfly show. No news on the upcoming CD. No rumors of any appearances on compilation CDs.

11/11 - After the 11/11 Swing Cafe show, Melissa said that Atlantic Records dropped her a couple of days ago (along with a bunch of other AR artists). Nevertheless, they are still moving ahead with their plans for her next album (getting ready to record), still targeted for release next year. Meanwhile, she will be checking out opportunities with other labels. Stay tuned on this one.....

11/04 - At the 11/04 Love Lounge show, Melissa reiterated that her next CD will be coming next year. No talk about tours, or appearances on other CDs, only the upcoming LA shows at the Swing Cafe, Atlas Bar & Grill, and Psalms.

10/11 - At the Tower Records OUTLOUD release party, Melissa mentioned that her next CD will be coming out (no pun intended) next spring (which is different from her 10/8 Swing Cafe show, where she said January). Either way, she said this CD is more hard rock (electric everything with pedals), and that her acoustic fans will probably be disappointed. hhmmmm.

09/12 - Here's the latest from OUTLOUD CD:

08/20 - You might want to check out Sony's web blurb for toddler. Sony has also included a sound file from Melissa's track on the toddler page.

08/15 - We've received word from the gang over at

07/29 - It's been confirmed that Rock For Choice's latest compilation, Spirit Of '73, will be released on August 8th, and Melissa has contributed her version of Roberta Flack's "Feel Like Making Love." Addicted To Noise has a review of this CD up and running on the web. Check it out.

07/18 - At last night's show in LA, Melissa mentioned that the gang will be hitting the studio soon, looking for a February release of their 3rd CD. Should we have a name the CD contest?

06/30 - Now Melissa has appeared in the August '95 issue of Deneuve. According to the blurb, she's going to be one of about twenty artists appearing on the queer benefit CD Out There. Produced by Julie Dorf (International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commissioner), the CD will contain previously unrelease material from artists including the Indigo Girls, Throwing Muses, and Girls in the Nose, along with Melissa. However, a release date was not included, so we'll have to keep our eyes open for that one.

06/29 - Checking out the Web, via Webcrawler, we stumbled onto the following being promoted by Out magazine. Atlantic Records is releasing Pride '95, and, you guessed it, Melissa will be appearing on it. Who are the other artists and when will it be released? Don't bother checking Atlantic Records web page, for only current releases are listed. But you could send them email.

06/24 - Melissa will be finishing up her current tour at the Fez (NYC) on 6/28. Sounds like she signed quite a few CD's and posters on this tour. At one of the more recent shows, Melissa mentioned that she will be going back to the studio, in hopes of releasing another CD in January. When is she going to do another video?

06/23 - Rumor has it that Epic will be releasing Rock For Choice in August. It's supposed to be women of the '90's performing songs from women of the 70's. Melissa will be performing Roberta Flack's "Feel Like Making Love" (remember that one?). We haven't verified this with Epic, but we can watch for a release out on Epic's web page.
